Low: To miss Portugal game
Germany coach Joachim Low will watch from the stands when his side take on Portugal in the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 on Thursday.
The German Football Federation has confirmed that Low has lost his appeal against his sending-off in the 1-0 win over Austria.
Low and Austrian counterpart Josef Hickersberger were dismissed from the dugout by referee Manuel Mejuto Gonzalez five minutes before half-time after a disagreement between the two managers and the fourth official by the technical areas.
The German coach had denied any wrongdoing, but Uefa's disciplinary commission has handed Low a one-match ban, while Hickersberger is also believed to have been dealt the same fate.
Low will not be allowed access to his players at St Jakob-Park, meaning assistant Hans-Dieter Flick is likely to take responsibility during the encounter versus Portugal.
Low said in a statement on the German Football Federation's official website: "I have to acknowledge Uefa's decision and would not like to comment on it. Naturally I'm extremely disappointed."
