Terim: Could stay on
The president of the Turkish Football Federation is hopeful that Fatih Terim will decide to remain at the helm.
Turkey enjoyed a superb Euro 2008 campaign as they came from behind in games against Switzerland, Czech Republic and Croatia to book their place in the semi-finals.
Depleted by injuries and suspensions, they produced another spirited performance against Germany in the last four but lost 3-2 as Philipp Lahm scored in the last minute.
Terim stated after the match that he would probably quit his role, but Turkish football supremo Hasan Dogan has spoken to the manager about his future and feels he could change his mind.
Dogan is desperate for Terim to stay at the helm as Turkey build towards the World Cup in South Africa.
He said: "We spoke on the aeroplane. Fatih Terim is at this moment in charge of the national side. God willing he will be in 2010."
Dogan was also quoted in Turkish newspaper Hurriyet as telling Terim: "We are very happy with you, we have confidence in you, our confidence in you has never dimmed and we want you to stay on till 2010."
