Aragones: Wasn't wanted
Luis Aragones has stated he is quitting as Spain coach because the federation did not fight hard enough to retain his services.
The former Atletico Madrid and Real Mallorca boss, who has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, is stepping down after Euro 2008 following four years at the helm.
Aragones, who will now oversee Spain's Euro 2008 final against Germany, has hinted he could have been convinced to stay on had the Spanish football federation acted.
"I'm standing down because nobody asked me anything," said Aragones. "So I decided to go and there's no turning back.
"Nobody told me anything at that moment when we qualified (for Euro 2008). I decided then that I was going to leave, period. Now there's no way back."
