Frings: Hopes to start
Torsten Frings says he is 'totally ready' to start Germany's Euro 2008 final against Spain after overcoming a rib injury.
The holding midfielder had been a key figure for Germany during the group phase, but fractured ribs in the 1-0 win over Austria.
He sat out the quarter-final success over Portugal before appearing as a half-time substitute in Wednesday's semi-final victory over Turkey.
Frings is now hoping he will be recalled to the starting line-up by Joachim Low after his attitude was praised by the Germany coach.
"In the game against Turkey I had to take a number of blows to my broken rib, but I didn't feel a thing," said Frings.
"I am totally ready to play again and get stuck into challenges.
"I don't know if I will be chosen, but I am definitely 100 per cent prepared."
Ahead of Sunday's showdown in Vienna, Frings feels it will be vital for Germany to ensure Spain are not given time on the ball.
He added: "They have a strong, technically gifted team capable of cutting through the midfield like no other side.
"We will have to put them under pressure and prevent them from getting into the game, otherwise it could prove very difficult."
