Platini: Reassured

Michel Platini insists that he is happy with the progress being made by Poland ahead of Euro 2012.

The Uefa president had visited the country amid growing fears that preparations had fallen behind schedule and they would not be ready to co-host the tournament in four years' time.

However, Platini has been reassured that the plans remain on target and he will head to Ukraine, the other co-hosts, safe in the knowledge that at least one side of the joint venture are fulfilling their half of the bargain.

"All activities in Poland seem to be on track," said Platini.

"We have received assurances from the Polish government that the crucial national stadium in Warsaw will be completed in due time, together with the necessary transport infrastructure.

"I feel reassured after this visit to the Polish side of the Uefa Euro 2012 project."
