Norwegian side Viking FK have announced that they have agreed to sign Heerenveen forward Patrik Ingelsten, pending a medical.

The 27-year-old signed for Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen last December but he has failed to become a regular in the plans of boss Jan de Jonge, who replaced Trond Sollied earlier this season.

Viking have therefore moved to sign former Kalmar striker Ingelsten and have agreed a deal with Heerenveen, reportedly in the region of €500,000 (£445,000).

Personal terms have still to be settled and the player must pass a medical, but Viking technical director Egil Ostenstad is pleased with progress.

"We are delighted to announce that we have reached an agreement with Heerenveen about the transfer of Patrik Ingelsten," Ostenstad said.

"However, we have yet to agree personal terms with the player. Additionally, Ingelsten hasn't undergone a medical exam yet."
