Medel: Highly-rated
Ligue 1 giants Lyon have enquired as to the availability of Chilean starlet Marcos Medel.
The youngster, who is on the books of Audax Italiano, has come to the attention of Europe's top clubs after impressing at the recent Toulon tournament.
Since that event numerous calls have been made to Audax in an effort to distinguish whether he is available for transfer.
The Chilean club insist they have on intention of doing business at present, but admit that Medel is likely to be on the move in the near future.
"We have received phone calls and faxes asking us for the market value of Medel, but haven't put a price on him," Audax president Valentin Cantergiani told Radio Cooperativa.
"We are of the opinion that Marco has to stay here for another year because we have already sold Carlos Villanueva and Fabian Orellana and that is enough.
"We can't let another important player leave the team. Medel could be transferred in the future, but not until next year."
Cantergiani also confirmed that Lyon were among those sides to have made advances towards Medel.
"Yes, the phone calls came from France and Lyon were one of those teams that were interested," he said.
