Estudiantes duo Mauro Boselli and Marcos Angeleri both look set to complete moves to England this week.

Wigan have agreed terms with the current Copa Libertadores champions for forward Boselli, whilst full-back Angeleri is poised to join Sunderland.

A number of Premier League clubs have been tracking Boselli, but Wigan have been leading the chase and finally look to have agreed a deal after upping their bid to $9million (£6.2million).

Estudiantes had been holding out for $10million (£6.9million) but they look to have agreed to the slightly lower fee.

The La Plata club now have to wait for Boca Juniors, who own half of the player and still harboured hopes of re-signing him, to agree to the deal but that now appears likely as they cannot afford to match Wigan's offer.

"We have now received the new offer from Wigan in England and we need to chat with the directors of Boca and the representatives of Marco so we can define the transfer," said Estudiantes president Ruben Filipas.

Estudiantes are now set to dispatch a delegation to England to finalise Boselli's move and also that of Angeleri.

The 27-year-old right-back is already in Europe finalising his Italian passport, which will mean his move to the Premier League can be completed without any complications.

Angeleri, who is a full Argentine international, is now set to travel to England to seal the move to the Stadium of Light which will cost Sunderland $2.8million (£1.9million).
