Jonas Gutierrez's agent claims his client is happy at Newcastle and is paying little attention to rumours.

Reports have suggested that the Argentina international is attracting interest from Serie A giants Lazio.

The Italian outfit have been linked with a host of players this summer, as they attempt to recover from a dismal 2009/10 campaign which saw them finish mid-table.

Gutierrez, who can operate at right-back or on either wing, was believed to be among the many names on their hit list, despite having a long-term contract at Newcastle.

That speculation has now been dashed, though, with his representative distancing the South American star from any transfer gossip.

"Jonas is a Newcastle player and still has three years left on his contract," Pedro Jimenez Bravo told lalaziosiamonoi.it.

"He players at Newcastle and is a currently in the Argentina national side.

"No-one at Lazio has contacted me. A move to Italy in the future? At the moment he is only thinking about his current club."

Agreement

While Lazio look set to miss out on Gutierrez, it is believed that they are set to complete a double swoop on financially-troubled Portsmouth for Kevin-Prince Boateng and Nadir Belhadj.

It is claimed that the deal will cost the Roman outfit around £8million.

Meanwhile, Lazio have reached an agreement with San Lorenzo for right-back Pablo Pintos.

The deal will see Lazio purchase 50 per cent of the Uruguayan's ownership rights.

San Lorenzo were reluctant to part with a player who has been a virtual ever-present since his arrival in 2009, but were forced to cash in to help ease their monetary problems.

At just 22 years old Pintos is regarded as one for the future, but Lazio will be hoping he adapts quickly to the rigours of European football.
