Former Chelsea ace Deco has finally completed his switch to Brazilian side Fluminense.

The Portugal international was expected to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge earlier this summer, having been informed that he was free to look for another club.

Deco announced shortly after the conclusion of the 2009/10 campaign that he intended to return to his Brazilian roots and see out his playing days in the land of his birth.

The 32-year-old has now finally got his wish with the Rio de Janeiro-based outfit, with whom he has spent the last week training.

A statement on Fluminense's official website read: "The vice president of Fluminense, Alcides Antunes, has officially signed Deco from Chelsea.

Intense negotiations

"After intense negotiations, the player, who participated in two World Cups for the Portugal national team, got his release from the English club and will sign a two-year contract with the Tricolor.

"Deco will be officially presented to the press at 12:30 (local time) on Monday."

Deco joined Chelsea from Barcelona in 2008, signed by former Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari, but failed to shine at Stamford Bridge.

He won the UEFA Champions League twice, with Barca in 2006 and Porto in 2004.

He will link up at Fluminense with old Chelsea team-mate Juliano Belletti.
