Ivory Coast secured their place in the final phase of the African qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup with a 3-0 win over Madagascar.

Boubacar Sanogo struck a brace as the Ivorians finished top African zone Group 7, with Mozambique in second.

Ghana are also through to the final round of qualifying as they progressed from Group 5 on goal difference.

A 3-0 success over Lesotho was enough for the Black Stars, however the match was marred by a crowd stampede which left at least 15 people injured.

Emmanuel Adebayor netted four goals as Togo smashed Swaziland 6-0 to finish on six points in Group 11.

Nigeria eased to a comfortable 4-1 triumph over Sierra Leone as the Super Eagles finished top of Group 4, having amassed a maximum 18 points from six matches.

Samuel Eto'o netted a brace in Cameroon's 5-0 victory versus Mauritius to ensure the Indomitable Lions ended their Group 1 campaign unbeaten.

Senegal finished third on goal difference in Group 6 as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Gambia, who secured second position.
