Ivory Coast secured their place in the final phase of the African qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup with a 3-0 win over Madagascar.

Boubacar Sanogo struck a brace as the Ivorians finished top African zone Group 7, with Mozambique in second.

Ghana are also through to the final round of qualifying as they progressed from Group 5 on goal difference.

Senegal finished third on goal difference in Group 6 as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Gambia, who secured second position.
