Ghana have confirmed their intent to continue to try and convince Mario Balotelli to represent the Black Stars.

The Inter Milan starlet was born in Italy, but qualifies for Ghana through his parents.

Although the 18-year-old has represented Italy at Under 21 level a recent change in Fifa law means he still has time to swap nations.

With the removal of the previous age limit, which was set at 21, Balotelli would remain an option for Ghana until he wins a full cap for Italy.

Boateng switch

Ghana recently swelled their ranks after German-born Kevin-Prince Boateng opted to play for The Black Stars despite winning three 'A' caps for Germany.

"We won't give up on Balotelli now because if we have somebody like him our team he would be a huge addition," Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantekyie told kickoffghana.com.

"He's such a fine player and on a regular basis we'll seek to convince him that Ghana offers him better prospects at international level than Italy does."
