Kagisho Dikgacoi's agent claims he has received no contact from Portsmouth regarding his client.

Pompey were reported to be keen on the South Africa international, who shone at the recent Confederations Cup tournament.

However, with the club still waiting on Suliaman Al Fahim's takeover to be pushed through before entering the transfer market, they have cooled their interest.

The 24-year-old could still be about to secure a move to England, though, with Portsmouth's Premier League rivals Fulham representing a more likely destination.

"I have not heard anything from Portsmouth," Dikgacoi's agent Mike Makaab told The News.

"Kagisho is a top player who has played a lot of international matches for South Africa, but there has been no contact from Portsmouth about him.

"I get on very well with (Pompey executive chairman) Peter Storrie and I would have thought he would have rung me if they were interested."

Makaab added: "Fulham have been very interested, but have yet to take things to the next level.

Suited

"He is a permanent fixture in the national team and is now looking for the right move.

"I have yet to sit down with his club (Golden Arrows) and discuss a fee, but I am sure it will be reasonable.

"He would be suited well to the Premier League."

Meanwhile, Portsmouth remain confident that Al Fahim's protracted acquisition of the club will be completed without a hitch.

The process has dragged on for some time but an advisor to the Middle Eastern billionaire insists the takeover is progressing as planned.

"We have submitted information to the Premier League to begin the fit-and-proper test," he said.

"It is rubbish to say there are problems with the takeover.

"Mr Al Fahim remains confident that it will be completed."
