Amr Zaki has welcomed interest from Malaga and admits he would relish the opportunity to play in Spain.

The Egypt international is currently back with his parent club Zamalek after spending the 2008/09 campaign on loan at Wigan.

A bright start to life in England helped to raise his profile, but a loss of form and a falling out with Latics boss Steve Bruce tarnished his time in the Premier League.

He is, however, keen to secure a move back to Europe and is hoping that an agreement can be reached with Primera Liga outfit Malaga.

"I like the idea of playing against Real Madrid with all their new stars at the Bernabeu and the same with the champions of Europe, Barcelona," Zaki told his personal website.

"It would be a great challenge to go and play in Spain.

"Malaga is also a wonderful city. I've visited it many times and it's one of the most attractive cities I've ever been to."

Malaga are keen to get Zaki on board before the Peace Cup gets underway on 24th July.
