Hamilton Academical have allowed former Senegal captain Lamine Diatta to leave the club.

The 33-year-old only joined The Accies on a short-term deal last month, but both parties have agreed to go their separate ways.

The experienced defender boasts an impressive CV, having taken in spells at Lyon, St Etienne, Beskitas and Newcastle during a much-travelled career.

However, he failed to make an impact in Scotland, despite Hamilton boss Billy Reid finding himself short of numbers during an injury crisis.

Diatta is reported to have already agreed a deal with Qatari outfit Al-Ahli.
