England's friendly with Spain in February next year will be staged at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium in Seville.

Fabio Capello will take his team to Spain for the first friendly of 2009, but there had been debate regarding the venue.

The FA is understood to have been against the idea of the fixture being held at Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu ground after England players were subjected to racist abuse in 2004.

Both the FA and the Spanish Football Federation have now confirmed the match, on 11th February, will take place in Seville.

Following the game with Spain, England will then host Slovakia in a friendly at the end of March before meeting the Ukraine in a 2010 World Cup qualifier a few days later.

Capello also has friendlies against Holland and Slovenia lined up for 2009 as he looks to lead England to the World Cup in South Africa in 18 months' time
