Gomez: On fire in Dubai
Mario Gomez gave Bayern Munich supporters a glimpse of what they can expect next season as he hit four in Germany's 7-2 rout of United Arab Emirates.
Germany were far too powerful for their hosts in Dubai as Gomez, on his way to Bayern from Stuttgart, proved unplayable for much of the game.
UAE held out for the opening half an hour but once Heiko Westermann broke the deadlock the floodgates soon opened.
A Gomez brace before half-time sandwiched an effort from Piotr Trochowski that put Germany four up at the break.
Gomez needed just three minutes after the interval to grab his third, before Salim Masoud's own goal exacerbated UAE's woes.
Strikes from Ismail Al-Hammadi and Nawaf Mubarak gave something for the home crowd to cheer, before Gomez's fourth goal of the night in the final minute sealed what was a fine individual performance.
