Dorman: Looking to seize chance
Andy Dorman admits that he had given up all hope of representing Wales but now cannot wait to face Scotland on Saturday.
The 27-year-old was called up by Wales boss John Toshack after world governing body Fifa changed their rules regarding player selection.
The St Mirren midfielder was brought up in north Wales but having been born in Chester and the fact that neither of his parents are Welsh, Dorman was ineligible to play for the national team.
However Fifa have slackened their rules allowing players who have attended school in a country for five years to qualify to represent them, leaving Dorman delighted.
"To be frank, I'd given up all hope of representing Wales," he told The Daily Star.
"It's pretty late in my career at 27 to start thinking about an international future, but I can't wait for it to all get started now.
"I have waited this long. It's been a long journey. But there was never any doubt in my mind that I was Welsh and wanted to play for Wales."
