Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has confirmed he would be willing to discuss the opportunity to become the new Scotland coach.

George Burley's dismissal on Monday has left the Scottish Football Association looking for a replacement, with Craig Levein and Walter Smith reportedly the leading candidates.

Several hopefuls have expressed an interest in the position, with the likes of John Collins, Jimmy Calderwood and Lars Lagerback all keen on the post.

Laszlo has also been mooted as a contender and he boasts previous international experience as the assistant manager for Hungary and a spell in charge of Uganda.

He insists he is happy in his current job at Hearts, but would be prepared to discuss the role if he was approached by the SFA.

Big honour

"If there's the possibility to be the manager of a country - it's indifferent which country - it must be a big honour for every coach and for every manager," said Laszlo.

"If somebody comes to the club and asks for permission to discuss with me, okay we can discuss, definitely.

"To be the manager of a country, this is always the highest you can reach.

"I had the honour to train Hungary and even Uganda and, definitely, I had the feeling of what it took to train a country."
