Wales' preparations for a meeting with Republic of Ireland have been rocked by three more withdrawals.

Gary Speed will take charge of Wales for the first time on Tuesday, but has seen his plans hampered by the loss of key men.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is among those to have pulled out of the fixture as game day approaches, with the Cardiff loanee struggling with a slight knock.

Wolves' David Edwards and Sheffield United striker Ched Evans have also withdrawn from the squad.

Crystal Palace's Andy Dorman has been drafted in to cover for Edwards.

Swansea's Joe Allen had been promoted from the U21 squad to help provide added options, but he too has been forced to stay away following his outing against Cardiff on Sunday.

Speed already knew he was going to be without Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill, Preston defender Craig Morgan, West Ham centre-back Danny Gabbidon and Millwall striker Steve Morison.
