Scotland coach Craig Levein has recalled in-demand striker David Goodwillie to his squad for next week's friendly with Denmark.

Goodwillie, who is a transfer target for Blackburn Rovers and Rangers, has been named in Levein's 24-man party for the game at Hampden Park.

Goalkeepers Matt Gilks and Iain Turner are the only uncapped players selected, while there is no place for captain Darren Fletcher as he builds up his fitness following a virus.

There are several changes to the squad named for the Carling Nations Cup games against Wales and the Republic of Ireland in May.

Leeds winger Robert Snodgrass and Tottenham full-back Alan Hutton return after injury, while Norwich defender Russell Martin, Leeds striker Ross McCormack and Wigan midfielder James McArthur drop out.

Goodwillie, who held talks with Blackburn over a move on Monday but is still the subject of interest from Rangers, made his only Scotland appearance in a friendly win over the Faroe Islands in November last year.

His international career was put on hold after he was charged with a serious sexual assault in January, but Levein drafted him back in after the charge was dropped last week.

Levein, who handed Goodwillie his United debut, is pleased to be able to call on the player again ahead of the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.

He said: "The striking position is one that we don't have a plethora of players for. So it's good (to have him back) and it's in keeping with some of the younger lads I have been putting in to give them experience.

"I put David in that category and if you look at his form last season and the way he has started this season at Dundee United, I believe he's in the squad on merit."
