Michel Vorm is hoping a move to Swansea and a Premier League platform will allow him to become Holland's No.1.

The 27-year-old linked up with the Swans this summer, completing a switch from Utrecht.

He arrives in England with five international caps to his name, but currently finds himself behind Maarten Stekelenburg in the Dutch pecking order.

Vorm has, however, staked a serious claim for a starting role with an impressive opening to his Swansea career.

He is keen to maintain those high standards over the course of the campaign and hopes his performances will not be lost on Holland coach Bert van Marwijk.

"The style (at Swansea) is very much the same as we like to play in Holland," Vorm told the Swans' official website.

"The manager wants to play the right way. That is very important.

"If I can impress here then hopefully I can help my chances with the Dutch national team.

"But, firstly, I have to play well for Swansea and help the team in the Premier League."

Vorm believes he is in the right place to earn further international recognition, with a number of his fellow Dutchman already gracing the Premier League.

He added: "I spoke with guys like Robin van Persie, Nigel de Jong, Rafael van der Vaart and Ruud van Nistelrooy and they all say the same - the Premier League is a beautiful place.

"The Premier League is the biggest league in the world. It is a huge challenge for the club because we are new to the league, but it is a fresh challenge too."
