Germany overcame the challenge of Belgium, while Turkey began their campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over minnows Kazakhstan at Astana Arena.

A lone Miroslav Klose goal gave Germany the ideal start to their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign with victory over Belgium in Brussels.

A defensive lapse by the hosts in the 51st minute allowed Germany's Thomas Muller to find Klose unmarked just inside the penalty area and the marksman made no mistake.

Turkey earned their win in more comprehensive style as they brushed aside Kazakhstan.

Goals from Arda Turan (24), Hamit Altintop (26) and Nihat Kahveci (76) wrapped up a simple night.
