I have to say that Paul Smyth you have absoloutely no idea about football! Deco and Joe Cole roaming? That's quite simply the worst idea i've ever heard! Chelsea need out-and-out wide players it's as simple as that! Think of how many more goals they would score if they had someone decent to supply Drogba! Also, leaving Frank Lampard out in favour of Ballack and Deco? What's that all about? I would guess that Lampard would score 20 nest season, whereas Deco would score 3/4 maybe. Also Deco cannot tackle and he is extremely lazy. If i was Abramovich i would spend big on Torres and David Silva, and maybe even David Bentley, and my team for Chelsea next year would be.. Cech, Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole, Essien, Lampard, Silva, Torres, Drogba/Robinho.

Just another money wasting purchase, for Chelsea. You think they would have learnt thier lesson from buying Ballack. But when you have a bottomless pit of cash, I suppose you can buy players just for the Replica shirt sale money and not for the value on the pitch. I don't rate Lampard as an England player, but he turns it on for Chelsea, so why get rid?? AGAIN MONEY!!!!!

I'm quite bored of Chelsea just buying in world class players. I thought this was meant to be an English League, the best in the world some say, however Chelsea continue to aggravate me by just buying in foreign players and letting their english players rot on the bench. I have a lot of respect for foreign players as they must find it hard to adjust to life in the Premiership but for Chelsea to have some of the greatest england players in their squad, yet keep buying in more and more foreign world class player, how are the english lads supposed to fit into such a team? No wonder we can never win anything as a nation. And to those who defend and say what english players you have, think about who will actually start in a first team, Terry, Cole and maybe Lampard if he doesnt leave. Keep buying these foreigners and theyll all be heading off to Man U and Liverpool..Chelsea are the epitomy of why the Premier League is fast becoming a "continental" league not an "english" league.

Deco is a bargain at only 7.8 million and now with 4-5 world class midfielders people are really gonna have to win there place at chelsea in the next few seasons which is great for a few players for chelsea last season dropped there performances at the end of last year because they knew they were dead certain in the starting 11 e.g Joe Cole was best player at the start of season but was nowhere to be seen in some later games and anyone who says Gerrard is better than Lampard is a fool for if you just look at the stats then you cannot argue Lamps gets more goals and assists every season and lamps is the 1st ever midfielder to get 20 goals+ in 5 consecutive seasons in all competions in the premiership and gerrard is nowhere near that. lamps also has more goals per games than gerrard for england also even though gerrard plays a more attacking role for england than lamps

All there is to say on the matter is that: Lampard is a legend for Chelsea, he has scored 20 goals a season in the last four years! He is so important to us! I really hope Scolari isnt replacing him with Deco? Deco doesnt score goals and adapting to the premiership will be hard for him. It will be the biggest mistake getting rid of Lampard, it will cost us big time.

Drogba a liabiity to Cheksea? That's a laugh. He has been one of , if not chelsea's most prolific goal scorer in years. trouble is, english fans think that ONLY english players are good. Crespo comes to ckelsea and scores 16 oals for the season and all englabd calls him a flop. Owen scores about 10 goals last season and everyone thinks capello should pick him first on the team sheet("Doesn't capello know who Owen Is" they ask). people keep muttering about the number of foreign players in the team. Do you really think that a manager would have an english player in the squad performming at the same level or better and not pick him? Ok then. Are you guys implying that the boys are not being picked because they are english? I think not. In regards to the english team. I lke the team but i honestly believe that most fans and maybe some players believe they are better than they really are. and when they do be come as good as they think they still need BOTTLE. Penalty shoot-out results give us an idea of the bottle our playres have.

Great signing for Chelsea buying Deco, bargain in comparsion to Lampard who would be given a 4 year deal at 30, Lampard is way overrated, like Ballack his best attribute is coming into the box late and shooting nutin more in his game. Deco isnt as good at shooting but much more creative in passing, decision making and dictating a game. The Chelsea side needs a new winger maybe Ronaldinho but may never be as brillant as he used to be so a risky signing, joe cole isnt effective against good teams and Malouda is terrible.

"Deco is world class. Lampard is not. Let Lampard go to Milan and leave us a midfield of Ballack, Essien, Deco with Mikel taking the holding role. Robinho playing behind Drogba up front - how can we lose! " George Bianchi - what an idiot. Presumably Ballack will be left midfield in that formation. Your a fool and a sucker for football marketing. Look at the stats. any intelligent fan will tel you Lampard has been one of the greatest, if not greatest, Chelsea player ever. We should of won the champions league with mourinho and were unlucky 3 times. Under Jose we had a spine of young ambitious players. Buying has been superstars is a quick fix marketing ploy. it won't create a real team. we should be looking at Micah Richards, David Bentley, Wesley Sneijder, Messi, Van Persie - the type of players that can push on and become greats.

Wow. What an awful move by Scolari. You can understand the logic behind it - teaming up with another Portugese player - but this will cause some serious internal problems. The likes of Sidwell, Joe Cole, Mikel, Lampard etc. will all want first-team games; however, the two centre midfield places will surely be occupied by Ballack and Deco, with any formation adjustments liable to cause problems with other squad members. On saying that, to get him for that price is reasonable enough. Oh, and to Jack Myles, who tried to point out Chelsea's British players in the starting line-up; Sidwell, Bridge, Wright-Phillips and Joe Cole are not regular starters. There are almost three foreign players for every English player in that Chelsea starting line-up. Enough said, I believe.

Altough I feel Deco is good player, I still feel his best games are probably behind him. I dont feel chelsea need him either. The only reason would b lampard or ballack are on their way. I feel losing robben was a bad for them, duff 2. the year mourinho first came in they were playing off drogba & infairness they ripped teams apart including a great barca team. As for Richard Parker ur clueless, fergie try grow home talent?? we have more home grown talent then sunderland. We have neville scholes giggs o'shea brown, EVANS(u mite no him, sunderlands best player) & according to uefa rules ronaldo is because he sepnt 3 years with the club before he was 21!! not 2 mention players who have moved on butt beckham phil neville, phil beardsley( u mite no him 2) we have produced more players then sunderland. So get your facts right before you humiliate yourself again

Deco would be good as a chelsea player, but i dont think we should replace drogba or lampard for him, drogba is one of our top goal scorers ever i think we should just leave the unfortunate result of the champions leuge with drogba behind, lampard should not be sold for such a low price! especially considering that torres is worth £50 million even before he won the uero with spain. overall, i think deco will play well but it may take him some time to get used to english football

Deco is a good signing and is certainly worth a 2 year contract. And you can't go wrong with £7.8 million. He may be 30 but he showed he still has plenty years left in him by his performances at Euro 2008. As for Lampard being better than Gerrard? Well only Chelsea fans would agree with that. Lampard is awesome but Gerrard is better.

Deco . who is Deco? every game i have seen him more often than not he gives the ball away and fails to make the pass. Sometimes even lazy at times, rarely coming back to help out. OK every player can put one or two amazing skills into a game. Very overrated in my opinion.

Deco's a bargain for 7.8million. Still class and shows it week in week out. Him and lamps in the middle with Ballack just behind will do very nicely. Robinho and Ronaldinho to come in aswell. Liverpool fan saying lampards overrated?? Take a good long look at Gerrard mate. Ever won the premiership?Chelsea will top the league this year, Liverpool around 6th at best with Tottenham/City knocking them down a few places.

When you look at Chelsea's squad, I don't know how Scolari is going to keep the midfield or the defence happy. Ballack, Essien, Lampard, Deco, Joe Cole, SWP, Malouda, Makalele, these are all going to want games. They have also enquired about Robinho and have been linked with Arshavin and Ronaldinho! There wage bill must be sky high! Tbh though I am loving it as a MUFC supporter. I really do want Drogba and Lamps to leave and I think there is a strong chance they will. Scolari is an awsome manager but as he won't win the PL or the CL this season, he will be out of job the start of next.

Chelsea need top strikers to score regularly. Let Drogba go, he's a liability and Anelka. Best striker cum midfielder we ever had was Eider Gudjohnsen. Trouble was he was too intelligent and quick for rest of team and two-footed. I think Scolari will have his hands fall this season and IF he doesn't deliver . . . we know what's coming, don't we. Let's get a really great player like Messi, then we might do something.

George Biancis' out of order. Frank Lampard is a true blue and has contributed more to the cause than any other player in recent history, especially for the 11m he cost. He lost his mother recently and came back prematurely to help out his team, committed is what he his. Deco is a class player but he wanted Barcelona 4 years ago when Jose was interested, I tired of these leftovers, including talk of Ronaldinio (I wait to be proven wrong). Let's see how many assists, Goals and effort he contributes before you start blowing the trumpet of your compatriots.
