Cole: Staying focused
Joe Cole has played down concerns about the synthetic pitch being used for England's Euro 2008 qualifier with Russia.
Steve McClaren's men must adapt quickly to the unusual surface if they are to collect the three points needed to clinch their place in next summer's finals.
But Cole insists Russia do not have an advantage and is confident England can win if they have the right attitude.
The midfielder told Sky Sports News: "It's a nice challenge to have. As a footballer you want to be challenged every game.
"A lot of it is going to be in the mind. We don't want to put too much focus on it.
"It's 11 against 11, it's a game of football and the ball's still round."
Cole has been nicknamed 'Zizou' by his Chelsea team-mates, who feel he has a similar style to France legend Zinedine Zidane.
Cole admits Zidane is one of his footballing heroes, but is uncomfortable with the comparison.
"I'm a big fan of Zidane and the French boys called me it, out of the blue," Cole said in the Daily Star.
"Obviously Zidane was retiring and I never got the chance to play against him, but Maka (Claude Makelele) got me one of his France shirts, from when they played Ireland I think.
"It's a great comparison. But it's a bit embarrassing for me - I wish they didn't say it any more."
The first weekend of October in the Premier League finds harmony in performance analysis.
