Ruud Gullit is in talks to become the new head coach of Los Angeles Galaxy.
Galaxy, the home to England star David Beckham, have been looking for a new boss after Frank Yallop confirmed his decision to move back to the San Jose Earthquakes.
Galaxy general manager Alexei Lalas revealed that they were looking for a high-profile name to take charge.
Some of Europe's most well-known coaches such as Jose Mourinho, Fabio Capello, Jurgen Klinsmann and Carlos Queiroz were linked with the role but that always looked unlikely.
Now former Chelsea and Newcastle coach Gullit is being lined-up to take charge.
Gullit's last coaching job was back in his homeland when he managed Feyenoord but he left after just one season in 2005.
