English pair Ross Fisher and Paul Casey kept themselves in touch with leader Phil Mickelson going into the final round of the HSBC Champions.

The American world number two tops the leaderboard at the Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai by just two shots over Fisher and three over Casey.

Mickleson, who began the day a shot behind compatriot Kevin Stadler in second, carded a four-under-par 68 to move to 14-under overall.

Ryder Cup star Casey blasted off at the start of his round, sinking three brides in four holes and another at the ninth to give him a four-under 32 at the turn.

Casey finished with a six-under 66 with just a single dropped shot, while Wentworth-based Fisher shot a bogey free round for his third straight four-under 68.

Overnight leader Kevin Stadler struggled in the blustery conditions dropping back to fourth and ten-under overall.

Stadler carded three bogeys in his first four holes and, despite picking up a shot at the par-five second, hit another bogey at the ninth to finish two-over on 73.

The American currently sits three shots clear of a five strong group which includes Open champion Padraig Harrington and three-time major winner Vijay Singh.
