Phil Mickelson is confident of playing in the Buick Invitational this week despite an on-going respiratory problem.
The 37-year-old has been suffering breathing problems for some time and was bed-ridden over the weekend, sparking fears he would not be fit for his seasonal debut at Torrey Pines.
However, 'Lefty' has improved over the last 24 hours and is hoping to make his pro-am tee-time at 6.42am on Wednesday.
Mickelson has also booked a session with swing coach Butch Harmon, saying: "I'm looking forward to working with Butch to make sure everything's in order for this week."
Mickelson's first win as a US Tour member came in the event in 1993 and this will be his 18th consecutive appearance in the tournament.
