Carrick: Forwards are phenomenal
Michael Carrick believes that Manchester United's attacking unit are just about unstoppable at present.
The Red Devils put five past a hapless Newcastle outfit on Saturday, and cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over rivals Arsenal in the FA Cup last weekend.
With Cristiano Ronaldo unplayable at times, Wayne Rooney back among the goals and Louis Saha notching against the Magpies on his latest comeback from injury, Carrick is hoping that the club's impressive forward line can help fire them to the title this season.
"We're finishing strongly at the moment," he said.
"We have so much pace and when we attack with speed, we can cause any team problems.
"Everyone contributes but the front four or five provide that pace and Ronaldo's phenomenal, he just puts away his chances with ease.
"There are bound to be ups and downs before the end of the season but it's very satisfying when it all comes together like this because that's the standard we set ourselves."
"With Arsenal drawing (2-2 with Birmingham), we knew before kick-off it would be a big three points for us.
"In the end it was a good day for us, closing the gap on them and doing our goal difference the power of good.
"We were happy at half-time but didn't really play great in the second-half, maybe we were a bit comfortable.
"Then as soon as they scored, we put the game to bed."
