Tait: Heading for Sharks
Sale Sharks have announced the signing of Newcastle's Mathew Tait on a three-year contract.
The Falcons confirmed on Saturday morning that the England international would be leaving Kingston Park despite having a year to run on his existing contract.
Newcastle also revealed that Tait's fellow England back Toby Flood would also be leaving the club.
Sale Sharks CEO James Jennings said: "I am delighted to be able to announce that Mathew Tait will join Sale Sharks at the start of next season.
"Mathew is an exceptional talent and an established England international. I am sure that he will complement and strengthen our attacking options next season."
Sale Sharks DOR Philippe Saint Andre added: "This is fantastic news for the club. Mathew is a naturally gifted rugby player who can play at full back, wing and outside centre.
"Although he is only 22 years old, he has already won 23 caps for England and has still tremendous potential to develop further as a player."
