Quotes of the week
Shaun Wright-Phillips has rejoined Manchester City on a four-year deal from Chelsea.
The winger moved to Stamford Bridge in 2005 after emerging as one of the brightest young players in the country with City.
He had a difficult time at Chelsea and was rarely able to find his best form.
Wright-Phillips fell down the pecking order towards the end of last season and Luiz Felipe Scolari has now agreed to let him go.
The 26-year-old has completed a medical and finalised his transfer after an undisclosed fee was reached between the clubs.
"Obviously I'm delighted to come back to City and I just can't wait to start again," Wright-Phillips told Man City's official website.
Manager Mark Hughes also expressed his delight at clinching the deal and backed Wright-Phillips to flourish again at City.
"I've always admired him and he's certainly been a target of mine since I came to the football club," said the manager.
"To actually secure the deal and bring Shaun back home is a fantastic coup for us and I'm sure the supporters will be just as excited as we are to have him back at Manchester City."
