Clarke: Will the Bears' cap fit?
Warwickshire have stepped in swiftly for the signature of Rikki Clarke, who was released from his Derbyshire contract on Tuesday.
The former England all-rounder resigned as captain last month after a disappointing season but Warwickshire director of cricket Ashley Giles is clearly keen to resurrect his career with a three-year deal.
"It is great to have someone of Rikki's quality joining the squad," Giles said. "I have played with him and I know he is the right kind of cricketer and character to bring into our dressing room.
"It is a great opportunity for Rikki to develop his cricket further with the club as we continue to improve in all areas of cricket in the future."
Clarke played two Tests and 20 one-day internationals for England during his time at Surrey, before his ill-fated move to the Midlands earlier this year.
