McClaren and Hasselbaink
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has linked up with Steve McClaren at FC Twente to begin his coaching career.
The two worked together at Middlesbrough when McClaren brought the Dutchman to the Riverside from Chelsea.
Hasselbaink decided to retire from football earlier this week and he has now decided to take up the coaching route for the next path in his career.
"Hasselbaink has long been thinking about a career in training," his agent Humphrey Nijman told Voetbal International.
Nijman revealed that Hasselbaink was even offered the chance of taking a manager's job in England last season.
"He was approached about a manager's job in England last year, but he eventually opted for something else - but he is seriously interested."
Hasselbaink will initially link-up with McClaren on a trial basis as both sides take a look at each other.
Another trialist at Twente is Argentine Santiago Ladino.
Twente are looking for a defensive recruit after Slobodan Rajkovic was banned by Fifa.
