McCormick: Pleaded guilty
Former Plymouth goalkeeper Luke McCormick has been sentenced to seven years and four months in jail after admitting to killing two young children due to dangerous driving.
The 25-year-old also pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol during a hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
McCormick was more than twice the drink drive limit as he drove home from a team-mate's wedding on 7th June.
The goalkeeper caused a motorway collision on the M6, an incident which saw 10-year-old Arron Peak and his 8-year-old brother Ben lose their lives.
McCormick admitted to eye witnesses that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, resulting in the fatal crash.
The former England youth international saw his contract with Championship side Plymouth cancelled in the aftermath of the incident and he has been out of the game since then.
