Quotes of the week
Newcastle United interim manager Joe Kinnear insists he is not distracted by the 'for sale signs' at St James' Park.
The Magpies are currently in a state of turmoil as owner Mike Ashley looks to sell following the criticism he received in the wake of Kevin Keegan's shock resignation.
Kinnear was brought in to steady the ship on a temporary contract of between 10 and 12 games at the end of last month and he insists he is not put off by the current Tyneside trauma.
A St James' Park buyer has still to be found, leaving Kinnear's future uncertain, but the former Wimbledon, Luton and Nottingham Forest boss is adamant he will continue to give his job 100 per cent effort.
"I will do this job in the same way I would had it been a three-year contract," Kinnear - who has been out of management since leaving Forest in 2004 - told the Newcastle Chronicle.
"I would do things the same no matter how long the contract was. We're working to improve things on the pitch.
"Football is my life. And although I maybe should be a bit sharper sometimes, I call things as I see it.
"It's been very enjoyable to be here. That is all I will look for - the positives.
"The for sale signs at the club don't bother me."
