Quotes of the week
New Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has brought in Kevin Bond to his coaching team at White Hart Lane.
Redknapp has wasted little time in reshuffling the coaching staff at White Hart Lane following his shock switch from Portsmouth over the weekend.
Spurs decided to axe Juande Ramos, sporting director Damien Comolli and first-team coaches Gus Poyet and Marcos Alvarez late on Saturday night following their worst-ever start to a season.
Bond has a long associaton with Redknapp having worked with him at Portsmouth and Southampton.
The 51-year-old has been out of work since being sacked as Bournemouth manager at the start of September and he will now work alongside Redknapp in North London as they look to help the side climb out of trouble at the wrong end of the table.
Development squad coach Clive Allen is also expected to have a role in Redknapp's new-look backroom team.
Redknapp has confirmed Bond's appointment and hinted that he could also make a move to bring former Tottenham midfielder Tim Sherwood into his coaching team.
"Kevin Bond has joined me, so me, Kevin and Clive [Allen] will take training this morning," Redknapp told Sky Sports News.
"There are a couple of lads who have been here who I have spoken to about joining us as well so we will wait and see what happens with that one."
When asked if Sherwood could be one of his targets, Redknapp said: I like Tim, Tim is very knowledgeable and he is great on the game."
Redknapp played down rumours linking him with a move for England star David Beckham, saying is already happy with his options in midfield.
Reports have suggested Redknapp could make a shock swoop for Beckham as the midfielder looks for a loan move during the break in the MLS season.
However, when asked about any move, Redknapp said: "I have got David Bentley, he is fantastic."
Redknapp was delighted to get off to a winning start against Bolton on Sunday with Arsenal and Liverpool Tottenham's next two opponents.
"Yesterday was the big day, we got off to a great start," added Redknapp. "To win the game yesterday was all-important as it changes the whole mood of the place this morning.
"I'm thinking if we got beat yesterday I would have been walking in to a low training ground, but walking in today having done so well and picked up a terrific result lifts the whole spirits of everybody.
"There are no easy ones as has been proved and it was always going to be a tough game [yesterday], but it was a good performance.

Redknapp has vowed to try and gain a result at arch-rivals Arsenal on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1.
Asked if his side had any chance of getting a result at Arsenal, Redknapp replied: "Yeah, of course. If we have not got a chance it isn't worth going, we may as well stay at home. Of course we have got a chance, we will go there and give it a real go."
Redknapp has also confirmed he still intends to return to Portsmouth on Tuesday to receive the freedom of the city.
The 61-year-old was granted the civic accolade after guiding Portsmouth to FA Cup success last season.
"I am proud they have given me that and I wouldn't not take it," said Redknapp.
"It was given to me for what I did at Portsmouth, for winning the cup and what I did at the club, so why shouldn't I go back there?
"I think they want me to go and do it and I am very proud to. It is not a problem.
"I will have to finish training and drive back there rather sharpish."
