Rooney: No FA action
Wayne Rooney will not face any action from the Football Association over his badge-kissing at Goodison Park on Saturday.
The Manchester United striker received his usual hot reception against former club Everton and was some way from his best as the champions were held to a 1-1 draw.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted after the match that he removed Rooney from the fray as he feared he could be sent off.
The England striker was booked for a challenge on Mikel Arteta in the 69th minute and, as the Everton fans turned up the volume in his direction, responded by kissing the badge on his shirt.
Referee Alan Wiley dealt with the incident, which could have been regarded as inflammatory behaviour, by speaking to Rooney and minutes later he was replaced by Nani.
And the FA have confirmed that because the incident was dealt with at the time by the match official they will not be investigating further.
