Ferdinand: Tottenham fan
Les Ferdinand admits he would welcome the opportunity to become a member of the backroom staff at Tottenham.
The former England international makes no secret of his allegiance to the club, and is a regular at White Hart Lane on matchday.
He enjoyed a productive six-year spell at the club as a player, helping the club lift the League Cup in 1999.
With Harry Redknapp set to implement a new regime in North London following his recent arrival in the managerial hot-seat, speculation has mounted as to who he will bring in on the coaching staff.
Ferdinand is just one of those to be touted, but is hoping that a deal can be struck which will see him return to the club five years after he left for West Ham.
"I'm a season ticket holder, I'm a Spurs supporter, and it's been horrible to see them this season, going through what they've gone through," he told Sky Sports News.
"If Harry thinks I can come in there and do a job, then I'm happy to help.
"It's a club I care about and if I thought the strikers could benefit from what I could give to them, then I'm more than happy to help."
Ferdinand revealed that informal discussions regarding a role have already taken place, but believes further talks are required before any decision can be taken.
"We've had a brief chat, but nothing concrete," he added.
"But we'll sit down and talk about it and see where we can go. We'll see what's on offer.
"I presume it would be with the strikers, as that was my position, and hopefully if I can do that, if that's right for all parties, then maybe we'll do it."
Ferdinand could become part of a Tottenham old-boys set-up should he be handed a post, with Tim Sherwood and Teddy Sheringham also tipped to be taken on by Redknapp.
He believes that would be a positive move by the club, helping to replicate the famous Liverpool boot room which helped bring so much success to Anfield.
"Look at the Liverpool of old, they keep their own around them, and it would be great for that to happen at Spurs," he said.
"The boys that care about the club want to see the club successful, and we're all in the same boat. If we can all get in there and add our own little bit, all well and good."
