Keane: Charged by FA
Sunderland manager Roy Keane has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association.
Keane was sent to the stands for the second half of the Black Cats' 5-0 defeat by Chelsea on Saturday after confronting referee Martin Atkinson in the tunnel at half-time.
The Sunderland boss had been angered by Chelsea's second goal, when Nicolas Anelka provided the final touch from a clearly offside position.
Keane made his feelings known to Atkinson at the interval, who handed out his own punishment at the time, with the FA now taking further action.
A statement on the FA's official website read:"The charge relates to his conduct towards referee Martin Atkinson in the tunnel at half-time of Sunderland's match against Chelsea on Saturday, 1st November."
Former Manchester United midfielder Keane now has until 19th November to respond to the charge.
