Turner: Impressive season
Hull City are confident highly-rated defender Michael Turner will sign a contract extension.
The Tigers have opened discussions with the 25-year-old and are hoping an agreement is imminent.
The terms on offer would keep the centre-half at the KC Stadium until the summer of 2012.
Turner has been one of the club's star turns during their impressive debut season in the Premier League and Phil Brown is understandably keen to retain his services.
"I'm not jumping the gun on a deal but we are sitting down with Turner's agent. Talks are at an advanced stage and we're hopeful of a deal," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"I know that people will be interested in the money we're offering him but that's something we aren't going to disclose.
"The only thing Hull City fans will be interested in is the length of his stay, which will be increased by another year so will keep him at the club until 2012."
