Huddersfield continued their remarkable away form with a five-try romp against in-form Hull KR at Craven Park on Easter Monday.

Michael Lawrence (twice), David Hodgson, Shaun Lunt and Stpehen Wild all crossed for the Giants with Brett Hodgson adding five goals to give the visitors their fifth away win of the campaign in a 30-8 win.

Hull had raced into an 8-0 lead courtesy of tries by Kris Welham and Liam Colbon but Giants scored 30 unanswered points to temporarily join St Helens at the top of the table.

Rovers made the most of an untidy start by the visitors, Larne Patrick - drafted in for the injured Scott Moore at short notice - knocking on inside two minutes to give the hosts an opening.

And it was Welham who touched down after Peter Fox just managed to keep the ball alive under pressure on the touchline.

Momentum

New signing Liam Fulton barely managed 20 minutes before hobbling off on only his second start and things quickly got worse for the Giants when Jake Webster put in Colbon.

But when Clint Newton dropped the kick-off Brett Hodgson came up with a crossfield kick and found Lawrence in the clear to touch down on 22 minutes.

With Hodgson converting, Luke Robinson turned provider seven minutes later to create an opening for David Hodgson, his bobbling kick sitting up nicely for the winger to pounce.

With a 10-8 half-time lead the Giants took momentum into the second half and Rovers started to flag following their hard-fought derby victory over Hull just three days before.

Hooker Lunt put daylight between the two teams on 52 minutes and Rovers spent another 10 minutes on the back foot before the visitors struck again.

David Faimui started an attack froom the deep before Brett Hodgson sent Wild away for the clinching try just after the hour mark.

Lawrence then completed the scoring after taking a Dobson punt on his own 10-metre line, breaking clear before touching down as the hooter sounded, Hodgson nudging over the extras.
