Long: Out for two months
Sean Long will be absent for around two months after it was confirmed he suffered a broken jaw in St Helens' 20-10 defeat at Salford on Friday night.
The former Great Britain International and Man of Steel was taken to hospital following a tackle by Mark Henry during the second half of the shock loss at The Willows.
Long will now have an operation on Monday with a view to returning inside eight weeks.
Saints will be hoping the 32-year-old will be fit to spearhead their push for the Super League Grand Final, and he could even have an outside chance of being fit for the Challege Cup final on August 29, providing they beat Huddersfield in the last four.
Long will leave St Helens at the end of the season to see out his career with Hull FC.
