St Nicholas Abbey is one of 12 talented two-year-olds declared for Saturday's Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.

The final Group One race of the domestic season will see the Ballydoyle colt bid to cement his position at the head of the betting for next year's Derby.

However, he faces strong opposition headed by Peter Chapple-Hyam's maiden winner Coordinated Cut, who will have the assistance of Kieren Fallon.

The Newmarket handler will also be respresented by Morana while Godolphin are also double-handed with Al Zir, the choice of Frankie Dettori, and Al Ghazal.

Elusive Pimpernel excelled in a white-hot renewal of the Acomb Stakes in August and makes his eagerly-awaited reappearance for John Dunlop.

Hanson'D and Shakespearean fly the flag for Yorkshire, while further Irish interest comes in the shape of the hat-trick-seeking Elusive Award.

Neil Callan's mount Hanson'D may be one of the outsiders but the jockey has warned it would be very dangerous to leave him out of calculations.

"I went up to sit on him on Monday and he gave me a great feel, so I'm looking forward to the race," said Callan.

"I know it's a tough race and there are some top stables in there, but I've won the race before on Palace Episode (2005) and he was a big outsider as well.

"You should never be afraid of one or two horses and our horse is going there in good form and any rain that falls will help him."

Big Audio, Dancing David and Musaafer add further lustre to what is usually an informative end-of-season contest on Town Moor.
