Walter Smith believes Rangers will need to work their socks off if they are to get anything from their UEFA Champions League trip to Unirea Urziceni.
The SPL giants found themselves up against it in their efforts to qualify from Group G after being thumped 4-1 by the Romanians at Ibrox.
Despite picking up just one point from their three group games to date, Smith's side still have a chance of staying in Europe with victory on Wednesday night.
Smith wants his troops to put the club's off-field troubles out of their minds and focus on working hard in Romania and making life difficult for Dan Petrescu's side.
"I've told the boys we need to forget all about everything that's happened this season and get back to doing the things they've done so well in our time at the club," said Smith.
"The one thing they always did was work extremely hard. OK, maybe this is a team that is not the most talented overall but nobody had ever been able to fault their workrate.
"I feel at times this season they maybe haven't reached the same levels in terms of how hard they have been working. That's what they have to get back to and hopefully they will.
"We still have three games to go and we have an opportunity to qualify from the group so it's down to us to turn it around - starting with this game.
"We've had some terrific away performances before but we achieved them through hard work. We'll need to replicate that over here.
"There has been an edge missing from our game. There is no doubt about that - and now we have to get it back."
