World No.4 Andy Murray is to end his long-standing association with Fred Perry by agreeing a £15million deal with adidas.

Murray will team up with adidas, who are the second-largest sports goods maker in the world, from 2010 - with reports claiming the 22-year-old will earn £3m-a-year over the course of five years.

The German sportswear giant have refused to comment of the details of the 'long-term' deal. However a statement from adidas read: "The 22-year-old Briton will sport the iconic 3-Stripes from January onwards."

Murray, who rose briefly to number two in the world rankings earlier this year, has added 13 singles titles to his name since 2006.

And the Scot revealed he is delighted with the new deal and believes it will be highly beneficial to his career.

"I'm really excited to be joining adidas as they are a massive global sports brand with a credible heritage in tennis," said Murray.

"I'm in no doubt that this deal will help me both on and off the court."
