Australia win: Ponting's men claim series
The seventh and final ODI between India and Australia has been abandoned due to the bad weather in Mumbai.
The final game in the seven-match one-day series was scheduled for Wednesday at the D.Y Patil stadium, but rain continued to fall throughout the day.
Australia had already sealed the series win by going 4-2 in front in Guwahati on Sunday, and that will remain the final score after persistent rain in Mumbai made the pitch unplayable.
With a cyclone warning around the area, rain continued to fall on the outskirts of Mumbai and the umpires decided to call off the game at 5pm local time, two-and-a-half hours after the scheduled start.
Australia will now fly home on Thursday in good spirits as they prepare for the visit of West Indies, while India will play host to Sri Lanka next, with the first of three Tests starting on Monday.
