Baptista: Transfer talk
Julio Baptista's agent insists there is no truth in reports linking his client with a move to Tottenham.
The Brazil international has struggled to hold down first-team football at Roma this season, fuelling speculation of a potential New Year switch elsewhere.
The 28-year-old forward has previous experience of life in England, having spent the 2006/07 campaign on loan at Arsenal.
Baptista was reported to be keen on securing a permanent switch to the Gunners around that time, but Arsene Wenger opted against such a deal.
Spurs were believed to be interested in the Samba star over the summer and speculation regarding a switch to White Hart Lane has resurfaced ahead of the January transfer window.
Baptista's agent has been quick to distance his client from such a move, though, insisting the former Sevilla and Real Madrid is willing to fight for a place at Roma.
"There is no truth in these reports claiming he is set for an exchange in January," Herminio Menendez told romannews.eu.
"Julio is currently away with the national side. Any possible discussion is postponed until the future."
