Dundee United manager Craig Levein is dismissing talk linking him with the Scotland position as pure speculation.
The Terrors boss has been installed as one of the early favourites for the post following George Burley's exit on Monday evening.
However, he is refusing to be drawn on the talk of becoming Scotland boss, stating it is disrespectful to Dundee United.
The former Leicester and Hearts boss is not being distracted by the talk and is focused on United's weekend clash with leaders Celtic.
"What I'm saying to you is that it's pure speculation," he told Sky Sports News.
"I'm not commenting on what you may think might happen or the newspaper might think will happen.
"It's disrespectful. I'm not going to answer questions about that.
"I'm paid by Dundee United to do a job and concentrate on this game on Sunday.
"I'm not going to answer any questions about that, it's disrespectful."
