Ronaldo: Recovers from ankle injury
Cristiano Ronaldo will return for Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League match with FC Zurich at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.
The Portuguese winger began the season in emphatic fashion scoring nine goals in seven games including a brace against Zurich on matchday one.
However, an ankle injury picked up in the 3-0 win over Marseille in late September, which was aggravated while on international duty with Portugal just days later, has kept the 24-year-old sidelined ever since.
Ronaldo has always displayed confidence that he will be fit to feature in Sunday's El Clasico against Barcelona at Camp Nou and that appears to be the case.
The £80million man will be looking to get some vital minutes under his belt against the Swiss champions and help Real book their place in the last 16.
"Cristiano is in the squad," coach Manuel Pellegrini said. "He's looked a lot looser in the last few trainings, so we'll see how he plays tomorrow.
"I've always said it's impossible not to miss a player of his quality. He's regarded as the best in the world.
"But you cannot rely on one player and the team have responded well in his absence. We are top of La Liga and (joint top) of our Champions League group."
If Madrid win and AC Milan also beat Marseille then the two clubs will seal their passage to the knockout stages.
