I admire John Terry as a footballer but he could have done himself no harm by not trying to hide all his indiscretions. By accepting his misgivings and being humble to surrendering the England captaincy would have opened the way to possibly regaining that privilege. Alf Ramsey would have stripped him of it in his era and Bobby Robson would have done the same. So come on Terry show some humility. It will work some wonders for you and maybe get some respect, eventually, from the rest of the country. No one is perfect.You might get some respect from the Hull City following, if we win the World Cup. By the way, Man Utd will probably be the champions again this season, but I could stand to be corrected. Definetely NOT Man City, they have along way to go. Wayne Bridge got as much flack as Terry on Saturday, which he did not deserve, he was the innocent one!

Nothing will change jt will still be a leader on the feild for England. Just like Rio used to do when JT was captain its the same with the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, Beckham and Lampard. The only diference is that Rio wears an armband.

It was a joke that he was stripped of the captaincy and England will curse themselves if JT's commitment for them starts to wary, their loss is our gain, outstanding performances this week, just shows what an important player/leader he is when times are hard and big games need to be won. but so long as England have a morally correct captain like Rio Ferdinand then our children have a good role model to follow, lets just hope they don't bring in random drugs testing to primary schools though.

Give JT a break, I would rather have an unfaithful son one day than one that avoids drugs tests.... Terry messed up, there maybe reasons but everybody is so quick to judge... He is quality on the field and thats where you need it...... England's loss, Chelsea's gain......

His personal life never should have come into play with this. Media has no right to make it all public. But i think Capello made the right decision. We know JT will still put his neck on the line game in game out. He is a natural leader and him not being captain isn't going to change that, he lifts a team through his passion. Hopefully him not being captain anymore will give the media less to talk about and this will all blow over and we can concentrate on football.

Terry is just as bad as Tiger Woods only Woods has to stop playing, looses his sponsors, everything, but Terry goes on as normal except he looses an armband, he will still play at world cup he will still be captain in the eyes of the players and manager, the rest is just a front for te cameras

Loyalty is in such short supply these days it is great to see Chelsea supporting our Captain. Of course everyone outside of Chelsea would love to see him missing from the team sheet, so that they would have a better chance of beating the blues. The strength of his character ON the field is what we love watching. Our "King of Spin and SMS's, Warney, would have been sorely missed , even by you pommies, if we judged everyone the same way.

Capello took the captaincy off Terry to deflate this whole sorry issue. I think it is a stroke of genius and will benefit not only the England team but Terry as well. There is more to come from the media on this issue and had Terry not been stripped of the captaincy this media circus would have continued right up to the world cup.

It was the right call by Capello. But this should be the end of it. Everyone should move on and concentrate on the WC. Terry was, is and will be a great player and he is very important at the back with Ferdinand, who by the way is a deserved captain and should've actually been given the armband inthe first place.

I think Capello was right to sack him because the England captain doesn't only represent the team but the whole nation. After those allegations, it was probably the right way to go. But that is where it should stop. End of, move on. Terry is our best centre back and he stays in the team. And credit to him he has been professional about it, not letting it affect his performances. The media are just trying to make money out of his misery. Had this happened to Beckham when he was England captain he would have been crucified. The media love finding a villian.

While I agree with the previous posters comments about the situation being blown out of proportion, I happen to feel that this might have been the best decision for the time being. Regardless of his prior dedication, this may cause some uncomfortable moments in the locker room, as well the captain is expected to lead a good example for all fans. Children watch football, I have been watching it since I was very little. This is the same action I would expect if the captain were caught in another unethical practice which might tarnish the image of the team. Regardless, I still think JT is a fantastic player and a great leader and disserves the support of the Chelsea fans. Thank you for your dedication to the England side!

I'm a season ticket holder at Chelsea from the same town as JT, so he's more of an idol than most players to me, it's not fair what has happened to him over the last few weeks and he has been strong through out and at least will remain our captain, we'll never stop singing for ya John! I agree Mads, we should be thanking Terry. He has been nothing but amazing for the blues. The same goes for when he plays for England. He puts his head on the line for his nation, so the fact that Capello has stripped him of his captaincy is nothing short of disgraceful, let alone the fact that there is no-one who can replace JT. Anyway, that aside, I was at that match and the support for Terry was outstanding. I've never been more proud to be a blue, and he deserved every ounce of it. Did you see his performance!

This whole situation has been blown out of proportion by the media, his private life should be private. To do this in a world cup year as well the media couldnt have timed this any worse. Judging by his performance yesterday he didnt seem to be affected but if the media keep pushing just so they can sell more papers and boost their viewers, then sooner or later its going to take its toll and then it will affect him at the world cup and they will probably blame his poor performance on being a major factor to us failing to lift the world cup. Leave the man alone! Chin up JT and I hope all this blows away for you soon

He never should have lost his England Captaincy. He is an amazing player and i for one at the chelsea vs arsenal match sitting in stamford bridge am proud to have JT as chelsea's leader. What he does off the pitch is nothing to do with me however when hes on the pitch thats what really counts and makes the difference to football. Great game JT keep em comming for those titles!
